Jeffrey Saccani to Co-Present Technical Paper at 82nd Shock & Vibration Symposium
CHARLESTON, SC, - October 20, 2011 - Jeffrey Saccani, P.E., Senior Engineer at Life Cycle Engineering, and Craig Miller, of the Industrial Engineering Division at Alion Science & Technology, will present a technical paper at the 82nd Shock and Vibration Symposium. Their paper, “Compliance to MIL-STD-167 by Analysis with Enhanced Methodology” provides an overview of the original methodology for simulating a MIL-STD-167 test for vibration approval of Navy equipment and discusses the analysis enhancements and insight used to refine some of the original assumptions.
The annual Shock and Vibration Symposium is the leading forum for the structural dynamics and vibration community to present and discuss new developments and ongoing research. The Symposium was established in 1947 and includes both classified and unclassified sessions. The classified sessions allow critical technology and classified (up to secret level) research to be presented in closed forums of cleared U.S. Government and government-contractor researchers. Topics covered at the symposium include shockship testing, water shock, weapons effects (air blast, ground shock, cratering, penetration) shock physics, earthquake engineering, structural dynamics, and shock and vibration instrumentation and experiment techniques. The 2011 Symposium takes place October 30 – November 3 in Baltimore, MD.
