Storeroom operations that lack sound materials management practices contribute to high maintenance costs and low productivity. When Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) provides MRO Best Practices Assessment and Coaching your personnel will gain a clear understanding of materials best practices and understand how to implement them at your site, yielding lower maintenance and MRO costs.
LCE will work with you to identify current gaps, transfer best practice MRO knowledge, and chart a path forward for improvement through the use of an assessment, education and coaching.
Scope of Services:
- LCE will provide a Materials Management Subject Matter Expert (SME) for an initial one-week engagement to work with site personnel in developing a strategy and implementation plan for materials management improvement. This will consist of:
– A materials management assessment to determine current state and a path forward
– Fundamental training on materials and storeroom organization and management
– Coaching for materials management personnel
– Developing baseline storeroom Key Performance Indicators to identify operational trends and define corrective action strategies to improve storeroom performance - A SME will continue coaching for two additional weeks.
Approach:
- The LCE Materials Management SME will observe and conduct interviews to assess the current state as compared to best practice. At the completion of this activity, the SME will brief site personnel, outlining current conditions and the proposed path forward.
- On day three of the first week, the SME will conduct an overview session on MRO fundamentals to establish a baseline knowledge level.
- On days four and five and during the subsequent two weeks, the SME will work with the storeroom personnel to implement these fundamental best practice processes and establish storeroom organization and other procedures necessary for a successful materialmanagement operation.
