Below are some examples of LCE job categories that frequently seek candidates with military experience.

IT: Cybersecurity, Systems Administration, Networking, and Software Engineering

The military can provide either a great foundation or thorough training and experience in IT, depending on your specific job and years of service. LCE regularly seeks military veterans with IT skills to fill roles including ISSE, ISSO, ISSM, and Navy Validators, Integrators, and Software Developers and Engineers. The military sponsor’s several programs such as the Microsoft Software & Systems Academy or DoD SkillBridge that train on the skills LCE and other employers are seeking.


The most common LCE locations with IT openings include Philadelphia, PA, Charleston, SC, Washington, DC, and San Diego, CA.

Logistics: Integrated Logistics Support, Supply Support, Program and Project Management

  Most of LCE’s logistics work is in Integrated Logistics Support. Leverage your experience with:
  • Coordinated Shipboard Allowance Listing (COSAL)
  • Allowance Parts Lists (APLs)
  • PMS
  • Supply System procurements
  • Inventory Management
  • Supply Support execution

LCE team members apply the above experience and more to support projects involving DMSMS/obsolescence management, maximizing commonality across platforms, item reduction, surface combatant availabilities/ILS certifications, control systems and HM&E asset re-utilization, analyzing Class Action Advisories (CLADs), TM conversions, training, EOSS, critical safety items policy, warehousing, alteration tracking and provisioning policy support.

The LCE Logistics Team often hires directly from the following MOS groups: 92A (Army), 2G0X1 (Air Force), 0431 (USMC), Logistics Specialists – LS Rate (Navy) and Storekeeper (Coast Guard).

The most common LCE locations with Logistics openings include Philadelphia, PA, Norfolk, VA, and San Diego, CA.

Waterfront Maintenance Support

This is a broad category of jobs from Engineering Technicians to Shipyard Maintenance Planners with a wide range of specific expertise. This may include mechanical or electrical specialists, or those with specific expertise in installing or troubleshooting auxiliary systems, HVAC systems, or navigation systems, to name a few. Team members in this category often have a training component to their position and may be qualified as SEA coaches.

The most common LCE locations with Waterfront Maintenance Support jobs are Norfolk, VA, Mayport, FL, Philadelphia, PA, San Diego, CA, Bremerton, WA, Pearl Harbor, HI, Guam, Japan, and Philadelphia.

Our partnership with DoD Skillbridge provides transitioning veterans the ability to reskill or upskill their abilities so they can fit current industry needs. This includes internships for various high demand skills such as Information Technology (Cybersecurity, System Administration, Networking, Cloud, etc.), Integrated Logistics Support, Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality, and Maintenance Planning.
