Life Cycle Engineering Honored at ACEC-SC’s Engineering Excellence Awards Ceremony

Life Cycle Engineering February 8, 2017

Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) was the recipient of a 2017 Engineering Excellence Award presented by the American Council of Engineering Companies of South Carolina (ACEC-SC).
The Engineering Excellence Awards (EEA) honors the year’s most outstanding engineering accomplishments in 12 project categories and culminates with one Palmetto Award given to the best engineering project from a South Carolina firm.

LCE was the category winner for “Building/Technology Systems” for their CyberAssess™ tool. CyberAssess helps Department of Defense (DoD) contractors meet new federal compliance standards set by the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) for protecting Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI). The online tool addresses the needs of companies lacking the resources to decipher complex security requirements specified in the NIST SP 800-171. Furthermore, the tool consolidates information to identify gaps within a company’s compliance and produces an audit report for contractors to submit to the DoD CIO before the December 2017 deadline.

“It’s an honor to receive such a prestigious award for our newly developed CyberAssess tool. Our goal was to create a solution for our federal clients and partners that would greatly reduce the resources needed to identify and solve compliance issues that could potentially threaten our nation’s security. This award demonstrates the value of our efforts, and with that we would like to thank the ACEC-SC for the award and for their positive contributions made in the field of engineering.”

Bob Fei, LCE President and CEO

Winners were recognized at ACEC-SC’s Annual Engineering Excellence Awards Gala at the Columbia Museum of Art on February 7, 2017.
